Character and Fruitfulness

The theme of the Mindoro/Isabela Joint Pastors' Conference was "Doubling our Efforts to Expand God's Kingdom". Interestingly, all three of those of us who were invited to be plenary session speakers brought messages about character as the key to fruitfulness and success. My message entitled "Integrity, Living the Truth" was given on Sunday May 2 at the General Assembly when all churches were invited to join the conference. The front row was occupied by a party list of candidates for the upcoming local elections for councilors and mayor. One of Bethany's pastors is running for one of the councilor positions and brought their whole slate of candidates to be a part of our service. Though I didn't know they would join us, God did and I believe they have to feel a greater sense of accountability for their actions after having heard the truth. Especially, after sitting front and center!

Prayer Requests:

1. God's leading and power as we travel May 7-10 to meet with workers in Indonesia.
2. Safety in travels.
3. Safety for Krista and Jenny while we are away.
4. Wisdom as we survey Penang Malaysia May 10-12 as a possible future base after studies.

ps The night before we were to fly to Mindoro Alberta had a tooth ache flare up and was advised by our dentist to not continue with the trip. She was sorely missed by all of our co-workers from Isabela and Mindoro. She has a temporary filling and will have it taken care of when we return from our trip to Indonesia and Malaysia.
