Three years ago we did a special tribute to Heather as she graduated from Faith Academy. We want to dedicate this second "special edition" of our Knudtsen Keyhole to remembering wonderful memories with Krista.

Krista is a Filipina by birth, born in Cauayan Isabela November 20, 1992. She loves the campus of the Bethany Training Center where she played with her sister Heather and her manangs (older filipina sisters) among the Bible school students. I (Steve) remember this little girl always ready to assist her dad when he was doing maintenance around the house. She also enjoyed being in the kitchen with her mom, especially when there was baking to be done. And then there were the puppies and kitties, lots of them thru the years. They always got lots of lovin' from Krista. Krista started out home schooling when we lived in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. She did well and planned to home school through the 7th grade. She was looking forward to having mom all to herself as Heather started school at Faith Academy in Manila. However, her contact with Faith Academy students in Girl Scou
ts convinced her that she wanted to go to Faith for 6th grade. God answered our prayers for her tuition and Krista's faith (along with the rest of the family) grew.
As we think back to her high school years, we remember a young lady that was mature beyond her years. Her choices of friends were wise and sacrificial. She always had time for a friend in need of someone to talk to. And somehow she found time to excel in her studies finishing high school with a 4.0 GPA. We always knew that Krista had artistic talent but it has only been in the last two years that we have seen the extent of her gifting in photography,k drawing and painting.
Krista has participated in ministry quietly, helping with a weekly outreach to squatter children called "A For J" (All for Jesus). She also joined with several of her senior classmates to be a part of a leadership group called "Truth". In Truth she and her fellow seniors shared a series of talks with female Faith Academy high school students about relationships and faith in God from a peer perspective.
As Krista looked into colleges that she might want to attend, we became aware of a unique scholarship offered at Milligan College where Heather is attending. It is called the Goah Diversity Scholarship. It is given to those students who potentially will bring the knowledge and experience of other cultures to Milligan College's student body. We felt that Krista qualified from the perspective of having been born and raised in the Philippines. As an alumnus of Faith Academy she could bring to Milligan her experiences in relating to students from more than 20 countries. The Goah Scholarship Committee concurred and Krista was granted a full tuition scholarship.
We thank God for this gentle, gracious and fun loving daughter he entrusted to us these past 17 years. Please join us in praying for Krista as she seeks God's plan for her life as she transitions to college in Tennessee.
