Staying Ahead of the Storm

Dear Family and Friends,

When we left North Dakota Wednesday it was 30 degrees and as we arrived in Knoxville today the mercury hit 70! We seemed to stay just ahead of the front that promised rain and snow in Minnesota and hail and wind here in Tennessee. We Praise the Lord for all that He's done in making this a successful ministry and family trip.

Our week at Wheaton was the final orientation for workers poised to leave for their respective fields. We will be the first to leave for the field followed by others to the Czech Republic, Jordan, Mexico, Nepal and Italy. It was fantastic to interact with such a special group of people and wonderful facilitators from TEAM's leadership.

God seemed to make a way for us to travel up to Northwood, ND where my (Steve's) parents are - with great weather. My mom had reached the point where my dad was not able to care for her so we needed to take her to the hospital. The doctor, a good friend of ours, found numerous issues that needed attention and within two days she was looking and feeling so much better. My dad was so humble and appreciative for our help. It is one of the best visits we have had with my family both relationally and getting things done. Thank you all so much for your prayers. We took care of a lot of details in such a short time we felt swept along by God's grace.

There is nothing left but to do final packing - final goodbyes with our kids and get on the plane on Tuesday the 28th.

Pray for us to:
1. Find a home in Chiangmai, Thailand
2. Come up to speed at God's pace in our work with TEAM
3. Establish good professional and personal relationships in Chiangmai.
4. Draw close to God that He might draw close to us.

Serving Christ with You, Steve & Alberta

P.S. we will be removing the support raising goals from this blog. We didn't reach our goals but will trust the Lord to meet every need. If you have meant to send in a pledge - you can still do that through the Bethany contact info that stays in the blog in the lower left hand area of our blog page.
