"Story Boarding"

Had you attended the Equipping Women Seminar with Alberta they would have asked you "So what kind of mask are you using to conceal the real you? 

This year's training (the 2nd of four trainings) was titled "Developing a Discerning Heart". She and 3 other ladies worked with 2 trainers, one based in the US and the other, here in Thailand. When I asked Alberta for an example of the training skills she picked up at the seminar she said "Story Boarding" was a neat new concept for her. 

Story boarding uses a major event in one's life that had a significant impact on them. One lists in columns on a piece of paper the people, places and feelings you had at the time of the event. Then in separate columns on your story board you list the choices made, beliefs and thinking at that time and what you desired or thirsted for. 

When one separates the unchangeable aspects of those events with the parts that were susceptible to errors in choices or beliefs one can address those choices, beliefs, thoughts and desires in light of a more mature mind and heart. Thanks for praying for Alberta as she studied with others. She now feels better equipped to help women work through past struggles on to wholeness and maturity.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for safe travels to Taiwan Nov. 26 - Dec. 5
2. Pray for effective ministry to the 15 Christian workers we will minister to during the 3 day conference. Both Alberta and I will be teaching and leading small groups during 4 conference sessions.
3. Pray for us as we begin to plan our furlough time in the US. Seems like a long way off but we need to book tickets early enough to lock in good rates.
