In Season and Out of Season

As we travel around the country sharing our vision of mission and pastoral care we experience those 'divine appointments' God has arranged for us with those seeking His will for their life. Sometimes it happens after a church service as we man our display table. Though we would love to cut down the miles we travel on our furloughs, the opportunities to connect with folks seeking God's next step in mission is too valuable to miss.

While church services and small groups provide the lion's share of these opportunities God has a sense of humor with some of the 'out of season' opportunities we've had to share missions with others. Back in 2006 we were gifted a cruise to Alaska. There we met Colby Dill, a young believer seeking the Lord for his next step. We shared about Bethany's mission training program and the next thing we heard, Colby was enrolled at Bethany College of Mission. Alberta and I definitely like this recruitment strategy but so far Bethany has not tapped us to head up holiday cruise mission recruitment. Sigh....

Prayer Requests:    

1. Pray for Steve's mom who was admitted to hospital recently with a variety of infections. 

2. Pray for safety for our final travels to Team's furlough seminar in Wheaton, IL and then back to TN. Pray that God would minister through us as we interact with missionaries attending the seminar.

3. Pray for our support raising goals to be met. Several churches and individuals are considering how they might be involved. 

4. Pray for our last few days in TN with Heather and Krista to be meaningful. We leave for Thailand July 16.
