What Are the Chances?
Dear Family and Friends,
A routine visit to supporter friends turned into a reunion of sorts during our visit to Minnesota. The story harks back to our regular visits to Hutchinson, MN. to visit 4 couples who regularly have prayed for us over the years. Now, only 3 ladies remain but it continues to be an uplifting time for all of us on our yearly visit.
However, there was a surprise waiting for me on this year's visit. As I (Steve) entered Reba's room, I realized she had two guests and started to excuse myself. "No, come on in" said Reba. Her two friends had flown in from Portland, OR to celebrate her 90th birthday. As we began to talk it dawned on me that the daughters of these two moms were none other than Christian workers that Alberta and I provide pastoral care for in Asia! One is in India and the other in Nepal, both of whom we had visited in the last 6 months. The moms were joyful and teary eyed at God's provision of this divine appointment, being able to meet someone who is responsible for providing pastoral care for both their daughters! A chance happening or a divine appointment? As Fox News suggests "You Decide".
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for our effectiveness as we share with a number of congregations, mission committees and individuals about the impact that member care has on those who are reaching the unreached overseas.
2. Pray for Alberta's studies as she preps for her intensive course in Atlanta June 13-17. We have had some inquiries about financial needs to cover the costs of Alberta's studies. A credit hour costs about $400 and she has 48 credit hours in this 3 yr. masters level study in Ministry Care. If you would like to partner in Alberta's study journey and receive a tax deductible receipt click on this link and follow the directions given there: http://www.bethanyinternational.org/donate/
3. We have a little over a month left before heading back to Thailand. Pray for good times connecting with Heather and Krista during our last couple of weeks in Tennessee.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
