The Filipina Connection at the Equipping Women Conference
It's great to have Alberta back home after her 3 week trip to Thailand. I asked her if there was any thing special about this year's Equipping Women Int. Conference that she would like to share with you. Here is her story:
"With only 9 ladies able to attend this year, the majority of the attendees (7) were Asians. The Filipina ladies (pictured above) with their cohort facilitators drew the other Asian ladies into engagement in a way that we had not seen in past trainings.
Though the Filipinas' travel was complicated by a typhoon, they were full of joy at being able to attend. Their fun-loving spirit helped the attendees from India and Cambodia 'come alive' in the training. They had more confidence in their presentations and interaction than in past trainings. We facilitators learned to not put such a high priority on punctuality and to flow with the easy going community culture of the Asians. We have already tentatively booked our venue for next year's Chiang Mai training. Pray for us as we begin to plan (our first meeting is next week) for Equipping Women Chiang Mai hub training in 2023.
Prayer Requests:
Praise: Krista has taken possession of her new home. We are planning our second work trip next Tuesday to combine work, her birthday celebration and Thanksgiving. Pray as we travel to Atlanta and help in some small renovations, painting and cleaning - that we can accomplish the tasks Krista would like to get done in a timely safe manner.
Pray for Heather making final preparations to travel from Glasgow to Atlanta on Dec. 7. We look forward to being together for the holidays.
Pray for Bethany as new leadership is in the process of adjusting the vision of Bethany to stay relevant to the current generation of those that need the Gospel.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
