The plan that was settled on was that each of the 5 zones (about 5 churches in each zone) would send a team of workers to repair one of the cottages. This working together for free is called Bayanihan in Tagalog.
Within a few short weeks 4 of the cottages were fully transformed, just in time to host a "Bible as History" seminar with 70 attendees (pictured below). Pray for our Filipino brothers and sisters in Christ as they find creative and collaborative ways to continue the ministry of the Gospel in Isabela and beyond.
1. Pray for me (Steve) as I seek to begin a men's fellowship with two guys I met at the gym and a couple of guys from the church we attend.
2. Pray for Alberta as she and her co-facilitators finish up the current online training they are doing on Sept. 18 and begin another a few days later. There is also an in person training on the drawing board for mid November to early December in the Philippines. Pray that these plans will be workable for both students and facilitators.
3. Pray for the newest member of the Bethany member care team, Steve Eliason - one of our former teammates in the Philippines. Pray for 'Eli' as he comes up to speed on how to best serve Bethany's cross cultural workers - especially the men.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
