Dear Family And Friends,
The picture at the right shows a creek bed that became a raging river in the Manila flooding of Sept. 26th. A young college student who is being supported by a former Bethany intern was living with her brother and sister in law when the flash floods washed their concrete block home off the side embankment pictured here. They now live in a cubbyhole just above Alberta's blond head (see picture). Their living space measures 6 feet by 12 feet for four adults and a child. With a generous gift given by one of the intern's friends, the family will be able to double the size of their living space. Pray for us, as go betweens, that we might convey the love of Christ to people as we int
eract with them.
In the picture to the left you can see the simple plywood construction that protects this family from the elements. When we asked Sweet, the college student, where she studies she just smiled and held her hands up in the air and said "anywhere I can." Sweet will graduate from teacher's college in March.
Pray for Alberta and I as we head to San Jose, Mindoro (November 29-Dec. 2) to meet with Bethany pastors for a time of encouragement. We will also be working on a short term mission proposal that would bring a team to work with Bethany Mindoro for 10 days to 2 weeks some time in the near future.
Serving Christ with You, Steve & Alberta
