Semi-Surprise Visit

As reported in earlier blogs, Megan Depree has been with us here in the Philippines getting 3 months of exposure to Filipino culture and serving a variety of ministries. Her parents contacted us a while back with a plan for Megan's dad, John, to "drop in" for a surprise visit. He had a business trip to China that got him within striking distance of the Philippines. However, in order to maximize his time with their daughter, John and Traci decided to let Megan in on their surprise. We picked up John at the airport last night and Megan was ecstatic! We praise God for a house that can accommodate this traffic! In April we have two more girls from Bethany Mindoro that will come and stay with us. They will take an intense TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course for 5 weeks. Tesol credentials are valuable as a tool both as a ministry platform and for income generation.

Prayer Requests:
  • Alberta has been approved to take her RN renewal license. She would like to do her test in early April. Pray for uninterrupted opportunities for her to study between now and then.
  • Both of us will be speaking at Bethany's joint ministry conference April 29-May2. We would appreciate prayer as we prepare God's Word for His people.
  • Pray for Steve's scholarship application with the Billy Graham Scholarship Ass. The committee will decide in late April who will be awarded scholarships.
  • Pray for our fellow Bethany worker, Dirk R. who also is planning to study at Wheaton in the graduate TESOL program. He is also hoping for the Billy Graham Scholarship.
Serving Christ with You, Steve & Alberta
