The courtyard of our missionary furlough housing complex displays ready reminders of the anticipation of the kids. Sleds and snow fun apparatus litter the ground. It seems the snow is on the way and we will probably see our first snow fall in 12 years tomorrow night. An even greater anticipation for us is the arrival of Heather and Krista from Tennessee for Christmas vacation December 10. But first, research papers must be finished and finals taken. Pray for Heather, Krista and yours truly as fall semester comes to a close that we might finish strong. Pray also for Alberta so that her application for 'bridge courses' will be completed and she can begin her studies. Once those few courses are finished she wants to begin work on her masters in Nursing.
Mental Health in Missions
Nov. 18-21 both Alberta and I traveled to Angola, Indiana to attend the annual Mental Health in Missions conference. Close to 300 attendees came from all over the world (including about 30 of us from Wheaton Grad) to learn how they can provide better member care for missionaries. This conference and the "Pastor to Missionaries" conference provide valuable contacts that will be useful in future ministry.
