A Filipino Family Connection

When I first arrived in the Philippines in 1985 it was arranged that I would live with the Tumbaga family in the village of San Antonio. The youngest in the household, Rosana, was 9 yrs. old at the time. Little did I know what God had planned for this bright, inquisitive and delightful child. When she finished high school at the top of her class she could have easily gone on to college. Instead, she felt led to attend Bethany's School of Church Planting (SOCP). There she met her future husband, Eddie Longgat, who would take over the leadership of the SOCP in 1998. Eddie and Rosana have faithfully served in leadership of the SOCP. Rosana has taught in the school and helped in the translation of training materials for lay leaders. It was not surprising, then, that she (on the right above) was invited to a consultation of lay leader trainers held in Nepal three weeks ago. Join us in praying for Rosana and Merly (on the left) as they seek to energize the development of lay leader training among the Bethany Churches in Isabela province.

By the way, our first foster child Christian (Moses) Dunn had a small part in a new car Tv ad in Australia - what a guy! Watch for the 5 yr. old Filipino boy holding hands with a Chinese girl in this video clip:
