Last week I began a six month internship commitment to TEAM, a non-denominational mission agency based in Wheaton. This commitment is a practicum required in my masters studies in Counseling Ministries. I will be spending full days on Fridays in TEAM's headquarters. I will have opportunity to be involved in candidate screening, furlough debriefs and other counseling sessions. In addition to the 'face time' I will be working with others in TEAM's counseling department to address the growing challenges to sexual purity that pornography presents to the mission community. This work will include research, surveys and policy development. We would appreciate your prayers for our task force as we seek to bring a godly perspective to the lives of men and women.
Home is Where Family Is
In one of my classes we have developed a survey to gauge the smoothness of missionary kids' (MK) transition from education to career. One of the questions we asked was "what is your concept of home? The overwhelming reply was "home is where my family is".
The big news here is Heather and Krista will be driving up from Tennessee to spend their first semester break at home. In the past, Heather's options on breaks were to join friends and go home with them. This is the first time she will be able to drive home for break. The girls leave tomorrow (Saturday) for Dayton, Ohio and then finish the drive to Chicago on Sunday. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel.
Serving Christ with You, Steve & Alberta
