Chicago's Blizzard of 2011

My Bibilical Anthropology Professor emailed our class saying "Wheaton never cancels classes so drive carefully and see you tomorrow". That was the day before we received two feet of snow in a howling blizzard. The last time Chicago experienced this kind of storm was 1967. We filled water containers and got candles ready just in case of a power outage. Needless to say, I got my first "snow day" from school in quite awhile - probably even further back than Chicago's last storm!!

The Blessing of the Audio Bible

As my dad's vision deteriorates with his macular degeneration he has become more interested in audio media options. I suggested to him that he try listening to audio books which he did and enjoyed. Then one day he asked me about a verse in the book of Ezekiel. Apparently he heard it on a Christian program he'd been watching on TV. I wondered if he would be interested in an audio Bible. Sure enough he said "order one for me, I'll pay for it!" Three days later Amazon delivered it and he's already into Leviticus and saying some wonderful things about what he's learning. Praise God with us - "though the outward man perish, the inner man is renew(able) day by day."

Pray for David Knudtsen that the Word would become alive to him.
