Last Friday (July 15) was my last day of internship. To God be the glory for His strength and encouragement for me to keep going. There were times, especially in the first semester, when I was tempted to drop a class due to the amount of preparation required. Because of having been absent from the classroom for 27 years, I had doubts that I would be up to the task. Through Alberta's encouragement and by God's grace, I have completed a masters degree in Counseling Ministries. Thank you for your prayers and faithfulness in financial support through this past year. God has done beyond what we could have asked or thought.
Ministry of Pastoral Care Conference

Isaiah 61:1 says The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners;" We felt a fitting capstone to our study time here in Wheaton would be to take in a week long conference on being equipped to pray for those who are emotionally and spiritually wounded. We have not been disappointed. God has worked new freedom in worship and prayer in our lives as we let the Holy Spirit work. Pray that we would be bold to share the truth of God's gracious deliverance to those who are oppressed and hurting.
Our departure for Johnson City, TN is August 1. Pray for a safe journey for us: Steve in the rental truck and Alberta in the car.
More about future travel plans in our next post.
