Harvest for Kids
Before we left North Dakota we heard of a Holy Spirit inspired vision for sending underprivileged kids to camp. A Canadian pastor had a vision of a ministry that would send 1 million of these children to Bible camps throughout the world. How would that be accomplished? By coordinating the gifts and efforts of a diverse group of people and organizations. The challenge went out for some to donate land to be used to farm - some seed, some the use of their farm machinery, some trucks, some time and effort. The result - in 2010 the Guinness World record was set for the most combines (200) on a single field. It took about 13 minutes for those combines to take in the harvest. To date, 750,000 children overseas have been able to attend a 5 day Bible camp.

A similar but modest effort in my (Steve) hometown brought in a harvest of 3100 bushels of corn - enough to send 4000 kids to camp. Isn't it amazing to see what God can do when people join their efforts and resources in service to God? The churches that organized this effort is already dreaming of bigger and better things for next year!
My mom will be moved from Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND to our hometown hospital in Northwood today. Continue to pray for her as she recovers. Also pray for us as we travel and share our burden for missions. We travel from Montana to Alberta Canada today.
