One of the exciting developments we are seeing here in Thailand is the influx of Filipinos being sent to minister the
gospel. Remy Weihman, one of our long time friends from Baguio City, arrived a week ago with a dream to bring the gospel to the Thai through serving the poor and uneducated sectors of society. It was our privilege to facilitate Remy's settling in to her living situation. In less than a week she found a Thai family to live with and is 'immersing' herself in the language.
In just two days we will be hosting a young Filipino couple and their 7 year old son. Ef and Elena Pacificar are spending two months on outreach from a Filipino seminary training program. Our friendship goes back many years to a time when Elena was a member of the youth group of Bethany Mindoro. Ef and Elena, and their son, Ian Carl, are on the tail
end of their outreach to northern Thailand. Pray for the growing number of Asians bringing the gospel to unreached parts of Asia.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray that these 'maturing' brains would be able to absorb portions of the Thai language. We study for 2 hrs. three times a week and the circuits are heating up.
2. Pray for our continuing introduction and orientation to TEAM ministry fields. So far we have tentative plans to travel in August and September.
3. Pray for Steve's Dad. He has been in the hospital twice in the last month. It is becoming increasingly difficult for him to live on his own but he struggles with the alternative.
4. Pray for our move June 1 that all would go smoothly.
5. Pray for wisdom for us as we network with member care providers to come alongside Christian workers when the battle is strong.
