Dad and Daughter Time

One of the highlights of my emergency trip to the US was an opportunity for Heather to come to North Dakota to help me with sorting stuff at my parents' house. It also gave her a chance to connect with her grandparents at a critical time in their life when big changes are happening. We had a great time together and even got a day to fish for walleye with my cousin Jim and his wife, Shari. My parents' house is on the market and almost empty. Pray for my sister Nancy and Fred who are in Northwood for the next couple of days trying to finalize the cleaning out of the house. Also pray for my parents as the full realization of the changes in their lives are still settling in. There is an important meeting with the nursing home staff Aug. 9 about the level of my dad's care. Please pray that he will listen to the advice that his care givers present him with. Thanks so much.

A Japanese Silver Bullet

Two days after arriving back in Thailand Alberta and I were on our way to Japan. After riding the airport monorail, the subway and Japan's famous Shinkasen (bullet train) we arrived in the northern resort area of Karuizawa. TEAM Japan's annual conference brings over 80 missionaries from all over Japan to this location to review the past year and lay out a strategy for the coming year. It also provides them an opportunity to rest and fellowship with fellow Teamers. It has been our privilege to meet with various workers seeking direction or support in some area of their lives. We provide a listening ear, counsel - whatever the Spirit leads us in the way of involvement. Pray for us that we would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we continue to meet with those who have needs.
