The events of the last two weeks have moved so quickly that I (Steve) have felt like I was surfing on a wave of answered prayer. There have been times when I could barely keep up with all that God was doing.
As I mentioned in our last update, my dad has been transferred from the hospital to a skilled care unit in the nursing home where my mom also is staying. He's experiencing what we call cultural shock in the mission community, at times feeling like he wants out. However, he has finally accepted his need to be where he is. After a well-timed visit from his financial adviser, my dad made the decision to sell their home in North Dakota. This was huge for us as a family because it meant he had finally decided that he could not go back there and live.
Along with the sale of the house, my parents decided to make their furnishings available to the three of us siblings. As I write t
his I'm on the road with a rental truck headed to TN with two bedrooms of furniture and assorted household items for our sparsely furnished condo. I fly back to North Dakota on Friday the 27th and out to Thailand on the 31rst.
Heather will join me on the 27th to help with the house and to see her grandparents.
We can't thank you enough for the many prayers offered for our family. God is truly able to do above what we ask or even think!
Pray for Alberta and I as we travel to Japan August 4 for 10 days. I arrive back in Chiangmai August 2.
