 Laughing In Tagalog

Pronounce that again Pastora ?
We would be remiss if we didn't share a report from the last part of our Philippine trip, our time with Bethany Mindoro. As you can see from the picture we had a great time. Every once in a while our hosts would ask us to say something in Tagalog and everybody would have a good laugh. What was so wonderful about our visit was the camaraderie we feel with the pastors, elders and their spouses in the Mindoro work. We have been visiting there for the better part of 20 yrs. and seen the blessing of the Lord continue to develop our brothers and sisters in Christ into effective ministers of the gospel. Our friendship also has grown with each visit. You know the feeling? You connect with old friends and its like the conversation moves to a new level when you are together. Is there something of the 'earnest of  eternity' in these God ordained relationships?

We both had the privilege of sharing from the pulpit, in small groups and one on one and we laughed a lot 'in Tagalog'. Thank you for praying for us - our trip to the Philippines was, if possible, better than we could have anticipated. To God be the glory.

Please pray for us as we head to southern Thailand today to join a group of workers who have come out of a creative access country (where the gospel cannot be openly presented) to have their annual retreat. We will be speaking (Wednesday, Jan. 30) about our role as pastoral care workers and desire to communicate effectively.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
