Doing Church in Three Days

Is it possible to come together from different points of the globe and become a local expression of the body of Christ in three days? After our time at Dolphin Bay in southern Thailand we are inclined to say yes. In three short days we became a body as we worshiped, studied, prayed and had fun together.

Our speaker took us on a tour of Paul's "outreach journeys" bringing new understanding of how the early apostles expanded the reach of the church in Asia. Alberta and I shared also from those same journeys how one very special disciple was transformed from early failure to being greatly used of God. Training, mentoring and encouragement were powerful tools God used to restore a minister of the gospel to a prominent role in church history. Thank you for your prayers for us as we engaged those who work in a country where there is not freedom of religion. We had lots of opportunities to informally debrief folks who live with the pressure of being watched day in and day out.

And we had a chance to monkey around a bit too - since Monkey Island was a short boat trip away. This little fellow acted like he owned the place and that was fine with us:)!

Prayer Requests:

1. Alberta will be attending a medical conference from Feb. 18-28. She will join many Christian medical workers and attend work shops that will help keep her RN license in current. Pray for good contacts and concentration on studies.
2. Our 1 yr. visa will be up March 1 so we are working on the renewal. Pray for a smooth process.
3. Home Assignment - we are beginning to plan a two month visit to the US. Pray for us as we set up an itinerary that would make the most of our time in North America.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
