 Flight Risks

As we traveled half way around the world to our ministry base in Thailand last week, we were sobered by the recent news of 3 commercial aircraft crashes. We don't take lightly  our need to trust God for our safety in travels. As you can imagine, flight safety and maintenance standards vary widely in different parts of the world. I (Steve) tried to book on the above flight in Papua Indonesia a few years back but the Christian worker I was scheduled to travel with suggested we travel the following day to give us time to obtain the required clearances. So, we changed our reservations and missed that crash. It turned out to be a great idea, perhaps God's idea? Thank you for your prayers for us as we travel in our work.

On a more positive note we got our first ride on the new Airbus A-380 from Atlanta, Ga to Incheon, Korea.  To have 4 inches in front of our knees was such a pleasure! Thank you Korean Airlines.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for us as we settle back into life and ministry here in Chiang Mai. We are still adjusting to 12 hrs. of time change, to driving on the opposite side of the road and to Asian humidity and heat.
2. We had great times with Heather and Krista during our furlough. Pray for us as a family - we miss not being able to be together more.
3. Pray for us as we prepare for our first member care trip to China in Sept. We will be visiting several ministry areas and speaking at one annual retreat.
4. Pray for my Dad, David Knudtsen, as my mom's passing becomes more and more of a reality to him. Pray for Dad to seek the Lord in his loss - The Lord promises we will find Him if we seek Him.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
