Doing Member Care Together

Oct. 28-31 brought TEAM Member Care Facilitators (MCFs) from all over Asia to Chiang Mai for the second MCF training workshop. Member Care Facilitators check in with workers in their ministry areas on a regular basis. They are our 'first responders' to day to day member care needs in the countries we oversee member care for. We have monthly calls with each of them; sometimes more often if they have a situation that needs more attention. 

Chiang Mai provided a real treat for these folks working in difficult areas on the front lines of God's Kingdom advance. Whether it be the fast paced society of Japan or the slow but challenging remoteness of Nepal, Thailand provided a refreshing atmosphere for their souls. Add to that, fellow-shipping with other like minded care givers and you have the recipe for growth and restoration.

As a result of the training, two attendees put out a weekly email for 4 weeks, highlighting key things they had learned at the MCF training. They reported good discussions at gatherings around the topic of third culture kids (TCKs). 

We worked closely with our co-hosts, Dan and Tricia Dougherty (pictured here). After the MCFs had safely returned to their ministry areas we met with Dan and Tricia to debrief the 2014 training and begin brainstorming for the next one (Jan. 2016). The evaluations of the 2014 training were overwhelmingly positive. Thank you for your prayers for the success of this workshop. 

Prayer Requests: 

1. Pray for our travels to Hong Kong Dec. 1-7. We will be interacting with Team ministry area leaders who represent ministries of Team throughout Asia. We want to be available for any challenges they are facing where they live and work. 
2. Pray for Heather and Krista during the holiday season. They are working together to put on a play at a local theatre ( Heather is directing and Krista is her assistant). Pray that all the details will work together for great performances. 
3. Pray for the girls as they travel during the holidays from TN to Michigan.
