A Home Away from Home on Thanksgiving

The holidays are one of the toughest times to be living and working far from home. This year we invited several friends with a 'Filipino connection' for a traditional turkey day meal. All the traditional components of a thanksgiving meal were there: Turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce and homemade pumpkin pie.

For two of our friends, it was their first opportunity to participate in this American holiday celebration. As we went around the table to share things we had been thankful for a themed emerged. We were thankful to the Lord that, even though we are far from home, He has given us members of the family of God to be in community with.

Pray for us and David, Lorna, Jo-anne, Sheila and Remy (our friends pictured here) as we miss our families and friends this holiday season.

Pray for Heather and Krista, director and assistant director of "A Christmas Story", a play that shows though Dec. 20th at Jonesborough's Repertory Theatre in Jonesborough, TN. The girls have put a lot of work into this production. It will show more than a dozen times.

More next time on the Hong Kong leaders' consultation.
