Moving out of the "Comfort Zone"
Dear Family and Friends,
As we finalize our preparations for travel to Japan, we have notes like the one above to indicate to some friendly patient Japanese stranger - where we are headed. As we scramble through the multilayered Tokyo subway station it will be an adventure to see if Google translate and our fellow travelers are enough for us to get where we need to go. Call it an adventure and it takes the pressure out of the journey!
It's a Small World
Angela Highfield was our daughter, Krista's, roommate in college. What are the chances she would end up serving the Lord at an orphanage here in Chiang Mai? Sorry Krista, your loss is our gain! We had fun helping Angela move to a new apt. last week since her motorbike didn't have a cabinet carrier on the back! It stirred appreciation in our hearts for all the times our friends in Johnson City (you know who your are Jerry and Kathy) moved our kids in and out of the dorms while they were at school. So glad we could help out Angela as she cares for some of God's special needs Thai kids.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for God's leading for our time in Japan (Aug. 8-13) as we prepare for both group contact with the field and individual debriefs.
2. Continue to pray for Heather to be able to prioritize her preparations for her masters program in Guildford England in September.
3. Pray for Krista as she assumes greater responsibility in her work at Milligan College in the Marketing Dept. with her boss moving to a full time teaching position.
4. Pray for Alberta to be able to finish up assignments for the intensive course she took in Atlanta before we leave for Japan.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
