Leading A New Generation

December 5-8 Alberta and I attended a leadership conference in Bangkok. Twenty of Team's ministry area leaders from all over Asia joined us for the 3 day event.  We met with global and regional leaders of Team to develop new strategies for reaching the lost. We and other pastoral care workers were invited to balance the strategy with input on the "personal" cost of the thrust into new areas of ministry. We also weighed in on fielding and adapting the millennial generation to seasoned ministry area teams. Most of all, we continued developing meaningful relationships with leaders whom we often need to work with when crises arise. These periodic connections with leaders are invaluable in building mutual trust for some of the difficult cases we work on together. Thank you for your prayers for our participation in these meetings.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for us as work on the Member Care Facilitator (MCF) workshop that we will co-host in Bangkok Jan. 18-22 with another member care couple. It has been a challenge to get the logistics in place as well as preparing the content for the 3 days of meetings. Pray that our MCFs will be able to gather information that we can turn into useful principles for orienting new workers to the ministry areas.
2. Pray for Heather as she enters the crunch time for her first tri-mester at university in Surrey, England.
3. Pray for Krista as she finishes up her application to the University of Edinburgh for next year. She's adding to her portfolio and working on her website and hopes to finish up in the next few days.
4. Pray for the girls to have a great time as Krista and a friend head to England to visit Heather for the holidays.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
