Mindoro Ministry Highlights

Dear Family and Friends,

We've been on the move since we last checked in with you but didn't want to miss sharing about some of our opportunities to minister on our April trip to the Philippines. Our visit coincided with Bethany Mindoro's annual summer youth camp, attended by more than 180 teens. 

I put the question to the young people "Are you becoming the person that the person you are looking for --- is looking for?" That took a bit of fancy translation to get the message across but I felt it was an important concept for young people to reflect on. Instead of a personal laundry list of "what I want" in a mate it's more about - who am I becoming and how will that prepare me for a long term relationship? 

Alberta participated in a panel discussion that fielded some serious and amusing questions the teen girls wrote out for them, mostly anonymous of course!  


I (Steve) also got to address the annual general assembly of the 30 Bethany Mindoro churches on Easter Sunday. Thank you for praying for us as we encouraged the Bethany  youth, leaders and churches in Mindoro. 

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for Alberta to have time to focus on her studies. We are traveling to Tennessee from Ontario, Canada today. Alberta has papers to write from her last intensive class and another one coming up next week in Columbia, South Carolina. She has a lot of reading to finish up before it starts!
2. Pray for me (Steve) as I travel to the Washington D.C. area to visit supporter friends and share in a supporting church. It's called 'divide and cover all the bases'. 
3. Pray for grace, peace and wisdom for Heather and Krista as they both have plans to begin new studies this fall. More on that next time.
