The House of Success - Closing and Re-birth 

Dear Family and Friends,

Our mandate for overseeing the House of Success has come to an end. The Pakistani teacher, Sheba, now back in Pakistan, can no longer return to Thailand due to having overstayed her visa. Classroom equipment has been donated to another school, the house we rented has been vacated and the 73 yr. old retired substitute teacher from Oklahoma has returned to the US.  Each of the 9 kids we originally set out to serve is in a much better place today. Are there funds left from the support raised at the beginning of the project? Yes, just enough to help the last family with 3 of our original students still in Thailand transition to another school. The rest of the children (and their families) have returned to Pakistan. 

There would be sadness if this news was all we had to report, but as I mentioned in our last update, we want to share with you "the rest of the story". Though the physical aspects of the classroom were given to another school, the "intellectual property" was not. All of the curriculum booklets were packed in luggage and accompanied by those traveling to Pakistan last month. The visionary for the school and its original teacher, Sheba, will use the curriculum from the House of Success Thailand to start House of Success Pakistan! 

The above picture shows Sheba with 11 of the 15 students that have registered to study at the new "House of Success". Please rejoice with us and pray for them as they birth another Christian based school. 

Prayer Requests:

1. Krista will soon finalize her pick of schools for her studies this fall. Pray for wisdom as she considers all the factors.
2. Pray for Alberta who is in Bangkok this week taking an 'intensive' course in her masters program. It will be a full week!
3. Pray for us as we wrap up our involvement here in Chiang Mai next week for a longer than normal absence (7 months due to Alberta's studies). 
4. Pray as we schedule our visits to friends and supporters this summer.  There are always more destinations than time to reach them.
