Coming Together
Once a year our worldwide member care team gets to rub shoulders with each other. We fellowship around the dinner table, play an outdoor game like Corn Hole or, if we are really feeling friendly, a game of Snake Oil 😎. But the best of times is when we sing praises together and wrestle with how the Word of God can guide us in providing pastoral care for TEAM's workers spread around the world.
We were updated on new organizational concepts like pacer and kingdom professional. A pacer is someone already on the field that coaches or mentors new workers during their first year of service, helping them to pace themselves in the adjustment process. A kingdom professional is someone who wants to affiliate with an organization like TEAM but uses his employment as an entry point into a culture that has yet to have a vibrant gospel message being shared.
As these new strategies are developed, we in member care brainstorm how to best come alongside workers in these new environments. Pray for our team as we fan out again to our bases around the world to support the workers that are pushing the boundaries of the gospel into unreached areas of the world.
Prayer Requests:
1. Krista arrives today - pray for quality time together - squeezed into 3 days!
2. Praise - Heather got her UK ID card - thanks for praying! Now lets pray for her Canadian passport application process to be completed.
3. Pray for us as we tie up loose ends here in TN and say goodbye to friends on this side of the ocean. Pray for our time in Israel to deepen our understanding of the foundations of our faith in Christ.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
