The Fog of Jet Lag
Dear Family and Friends,
Though our primary responsibilities have us serving TEAM here in Asia, we also love to be involved with Bethany Global University's (BGU) internship program. We are asked each year to speak to the newly arrived interns about culture shock, expectations and self care. Usually the students have had some adjustment time before we meet with them but this year the newly arrived interns had been in country less than 24 hrs!
So this is what the walking dead look like! The fog of jet lag was palpable as we did our talks and ran through power point presentations. I felt the volume of my voice rise in direct correlation to the drooping of eyelids! At the end of our time, several of the girls were standing to keep from giving in to the 'bag monster' of sleep. We may need to visit the interns to follow up on whether anything stuck during that ethereal experience! Pray for the the BGU students as they kick off their 16 months of learning and growing here in Chiang Mai.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for Heather as she works with some classmates on an original production that will give them some exposure in the local theatre community in Glasgow.
2. Pray for Alberta and I as we minister to a young Filipina who has recently ended a dating relationship with a northern European guy. It has been a difficult time and she needs to strengthen her relationship with God so that she can better understand how to develop healthy relationships with the opposite sex.
3. Pray for us as we prepare for a 10 day trip to the big country north of us. There has been a lot going on regarding visas and the ability to stay in the country and people are on edge. We will need His wisdom and grace to encourage these folks in the Lord.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
