Congratulations Heather!

On Oct. 25th at 1 am in Kunming, China, Heather's graduation service kicked off in Glasgow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS).  Alberta and I were on the tail end of our recent trip to China and hoped to catch the streaming event, live. When her name was called, Heather walked over to the president of the university.  He then lifted his cap and tapped Heather's graduation cap, a Scottish tradition that Heather found a bit unsettling and comical. And, now she's finished with her studies and visiting us for a well deserved break. She and Alberta had a couple of massages and took a Thai cooking class. We also toured the Golden Triangle area for the first time.

Today she flies to Atlanta to be with her sister, Krista - just in time for Krista's 26th birthday. Pray for Heather as she works on her Canadian passport and visa to the UK. She has already had some promising opportunities to collaborate with graduates of her cohort. She hopes to pursue these when she returns to Scotland in January.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for our 'friends' in the big country to our north as pressures and stress remain high from those who have the say whether people stay in the country or not.
2. Pray for us as our visa renewals are coming up. Some changes in the financial requirements of our visa  give us pause as we renew for another year.
3. Pray for us as we continue to prepare for the annual member care facilitator workshop we co-host with others of the Asia region. We are opening the workshop to member care workers from other organizations to expand their capacity to respond well to trauma. Our numbers have nearly doubled since our workshop last year.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
