"On the Road Again"
Thank you for your prayers for Alberta's mom's funeral and our interaction with the family. Saying goodbye is hard but our family entered into healthy grief of the loss of someone who was precious to us. We found God lifted that heaviness as the tears flowed and hugs lingered.
After the funeral, we traveled back to Johnson City, TN and made quick preparations for our first of three furlough car trips. April 4 we headed to Atlanta and spent a day with Krista, getting a feel for her world in Atlanta.
Since then, we've covered 3000 miles, traveling to Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana and Ohio. We celebrated Easter Sunday in Arcanum, Ohio with one of our supporting churches. Alberta and I shared with the congregation on "Transitions" - something all of us constantly move through. That Easter Sunday, long ago, the disciples transitioned from a disillusioned bunch of followers of Jesus into a 'church' that would turn the world upside down. Each of us experience transitions in our families, work and social life and God promises to shepherd us through those experiences. We are back in Johnson City now, re-grouping for our second trip.

Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for us as we travel to Columbia, SC for Alberta's graduation. She still has 2 courses to finish but will be allowed to 'walk' with the cohort she's been tracking with through the past 3 yrs.
2. Pray for Linda Fox and Mike and Cindy Helvie as they continue to transition into the member care role for a number of the ministry areas for we have been responsible. We are grateful to God for providing these folks to take over these responsibilities as we begin our plans to transition back to the USA next year (more about that in another blog entry).
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
