Bridge Building 

It is the aspiration of most organizations or teams to distill down their purpose into a few choice words. At our annual Regional Member Care Coordinators Retreat in the Smoky mountains of Tennessee this year, our leader pushed us to cut down the verbiage. "What do we do at our essence?" was the repeated challenge. What finally emerged was, as pastoral counselors, we build bridges. Bridges between two people who have drifted apart, bridges between people and God - bridges between people and the resources that will get them moving when they are stuck. Sometimes it is amazing how helpful it can be to simplify our perception of our roles as servants of God. We have all been given the ministry of reconciliation by Jesus - building bridges that can last forever!

Prayer Requests: 

1. Pray for us as we wind our way through the mid-west on our last car trip of this furlough. We will be in Minnesota June 28 - July 3 and North Dakota July 4-15. Pray for the opportunities we have to speak in churches and for our visits with family and friends of our ministry. 
2. Pray for Heather's health in Scotland. She temporarily lost her voice which has put a halt to her teaching English online to Chnese kids. Also pray for her as she has been asked to direct a play for a local festival called the Edinburgh Fringe in August. This is a great opportunity for her to do what she loves. 
3. Pray for Krista to gain new skills in an internship with a free lance illustrator this summer.   
4. Pray for our good friends Lowell and Sheri Glick - Christian workers on furlough from Mexico. The doctors discovered a melanoma tumor in Lowell's eye and his eye will need to be removed.
