Asia Conference Goodbyes
As Team's Asia Christian workers gathered for their first ever Asia Pacific Region (APR) conference, Alberta and I said goodbyes to those we had worked with over the past number of years. Almost 300 adults and 70 children gathered in southern Thailand to hear what's new in Team and connect with leaders from all over the world. Both of us taught workshops and led discussion groups. Alberta and I were honored by the Executive Director of the APR with gifts in thanks for our 8 years of service in the APR.
As everyone is aware of, the Corona Virus has been a factor in our travels and that of others who had planned to come to the conference. Interestingly, a member of Alberta's extended family in Canada gave us first class face masks their company was developing last summer before the virus outbreak was discovered. We were planning to use them to combat the air quality here in Chiang Mai but now they will do double duty as we fly here in Asia and home in April. Pray for us as we navigate these restrictions and associated anxiety people are feeling.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for healing for me (Steve) as I've had a cold for the last couple of days. We travel to India on March 2 and it could get sticky if I have cold symptoms.
2. Pray for God to use us in India to help the Nagaland churches develop good 'sending practices' for their members called to bring the gospel to other nations.
3. Pray for us as we possibly make alternate arrangements for our trip back to the US. Our current air carrier has not flown our flights for over two weeks (they take us through Xiamen, China).
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
