Vietnam Visa Run
As we continue our preparations to re-locate to the US in April, it necessitated a trip out of Thailand to obtain a visa extension. What better destination than Vietnam, a country we use to make pastoral care trips into for Bethany. One of the couples we visited there are no longer with Bethany, but continuing to live for Jesus in the work and ministry communities God has led them into. What a joy to see this family continuing to live for Christ in this needy Asian country. Their oldest daughter was six or seven years old when we last saw her. Now she is a college student at a European university. Their worship service was on Saturday so we attended a Bible study our host led before our departure later that morning. We praise God that Christian ministry does not always take a formal/organizational path. These are valid forms of ministry but sometimes it happens more organically.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for both Alberta and I as we lead various workshops during our organization's Asia Pacific Region conference. As you have seen on the news, the Corona Virus has a lot of people rattled. We are at the conference site in southern Thailand and will proceed with our activities. 95 % of the 280 attendees will still make it to the event.
2. Pray for wisdom for us as we assess our travel plans for the next two months. We have a trip to India slated for March 2-14 and need God's wisdom as we navigate the health warnings here in Asia.
3. Pray for us as we continue to liquidate personal possessions and say goodbyes to friends and co-workers here in Asia. Also pray for us as we evaluate the multiple requests we have received to continue to serve in mentoring and pastoral care roles once we are at our new base in Tennessee 😊. We want to hear from the Lord as to what is on His heart for us.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
