Bethany's Ukrainian Connection
Norbert Ban came to the US from Hungary about 25 years ago after meeting and marrying his wife Leslie in England. Norbert immigrated to the US and took a position with the Billy Graham Association. They settled in Minnesota but 6 years ago the Lord called them back to Hungary with Bethany Gateways after Leslie studied at Bethany Global University (BGU). They became active in planting churches, but everything changed on February 24, 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Church pastors were in touch with each other, making a beeline for the Hungarian/Ukrainian border to assist refugees fleeing Ukraine. Two particular groups of people were being neglected - the Roma or Gypsy people of Ukraine and those with special physical needs. These are the people God led Norbert, Leslie and their co-workers to help.
We spent time with Norbert and Leslie at Bethany's Missionary retreat last July in central Minnesota. They continue their ministry of helps to Ukrainian refugees - facilitating the temporary housing and re-location to various locations in Hungary.

Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for Norbert and Leslie as they have just returned to Hungary and are back in the thick of ministry to refugees.
2. Pray for Alberta as she and the other leaders of the Equipping Women training put the finishing touches on their plans for the Chiang Mai conference. Pray for 3 ladies from Myanmar who need to get their passports and exit permission in the next month so they can attend.
3. Pray for Heather and Krista as they continue to pursue new accommodations: Krista in Atlanta and Heather in Glasgow, Scotland.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
