Ruthie's Story
Alberta met her in Legazpi City last year as Ruthie was a participant in the training. Here are some of her thoughts on the uniqueness of the Equipping Women Seminars. “It’s not like the usual ways of learning; it’s more collaborative and transformative.”
How is she applying what she’s learned? “I picked up on ways to communicate more effectively during worship. Now, I give clearer instructions and engage the congregation more intentionally. It’s made our worship time more connected and engaging.”
She says the course "Developing a Discerning Heart" taught her more about seeking God’s guidance in the women’s ministry, which “has led to more purposeful and spiritually enriching initiatives, creating a stronger sense of community and growth among the ladies.”
She loved learning together with other women, only a few of whom she’d met before. She valued the focus on both spiritual growth and practical skills. “Simply put,” Ruthie says, “the Entrust modules met my needs and desires like nothing else ever did.”
As Alberta plans to head out to the Philippines on June 6, she would like to challenge you to support one or more of the 20 Filipina women like Ruthie who want to take one of the courses Alberta is and will be facilitating but don't have the finances to pay all of their seminar fees. Each need $35 to put together with the minimum of $10 they need to pay to complete their registration. If you would like to sponsor 1 or more of the women wanting to take the training please click on this link to our donation page:
and we will see that your student/s have their registration paid. We plan to send each of you the first name of your student so you can be praying for her (or them) during their seminar. We will also ask them to share how the seminar has impacted them when its done and pass that on to you. We will send out a separate notice letting you know when all scholarships are covered. Pray for Alberta as she has already begun one of the trainings online - it will finish in the Philippines!
Praise! Alberta has been cleared by her surgeon to resume normal activity. Pray for her as she regains strength - she's enjoying being back at the gym!
Other Prayer Requests:
Pray for our former Filipino leader of Bethany, Pastor Emilio Baliton. His wife of 50+ years passed away May 1. He has relocated from Oregon to the Philippines where he feels he has his roots and community. Pray for God's comfort and the grace to settle in after living 20 years in the USA.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
