Culture/Praise/Prayer Update
'Culture class' is definitely in session for us. When a person
brings their hands together in Western culture, the first thing that comes to our minds is - it's time to pray. Here in Thailand, hands matched flat together in front of you is followed by a brief bow of the head to show respect for the person you are coming into the presence of.
Praise Report:
1. We have found a two bedroom apartment and have now signed a one year lease. We believe prayer was a big part in this provision, thanks for praying! The unit we will occupy in June is in the condo next to the building we are now living in. When w
e inquired about it, the sales lady showed us a brochure advertising the unit at twice the price we could afford. Our hearts sunk. Then she said the owner would be willing to discount the price by 25%. We asked "How about 50%?" My dad taught me that there is no harm in asking:). Two hours later we got a call that the owner had accepted our offer.
We are excited because we felt a condo would provide us with so much more flexibility when we travel than having to make arrangements for care, maintenance and security of a house. We praise God for going before us in each of these settling in steps.
2. We have our India visas just in time to travel to India on Tuesday. Thanks for praying for us.
Prayer Requests:
1. Smooth connections i
n the travel to Delhi, India.
2. Pray for divine appointments for us as we connect with participants of the conference. They will come in from their work in the urban areas of Delhi and the more rural works in Nepal. God knows what each couple, child or single person needs in the way of direction, encouragement, healing and community. Pray that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and sensitive to what the Spirit of God is saying to us for others.
3. Heather is going to be directing a on
e act play for a course in Directing that she is auditing at Milligan College. She would like prayer as she and her fellow students share the limited pool of available actors and actresses that have auditioned.
