Your Prayers Made a DifferenceAfter a 40 hour journey, I arrived in Northwood at midnight Monday nite exhausted. I had tried to mentally and spiritually prepare myself for the various scenarios my dad would come up with to stay out of the nursing home. He looked tough, his arms bruised and cut from his falls. His knees and back also hurt. God had been at work, answering all of our prayers. I learned that just the previous day he had accepted his need to be in the nursing home and was ready to look at room choices. As I walked in Tuesday morning, it seemed his whole demeanor had changed: instead of denial he was joking about his falls. I said, "now where was you fell?" His reply - "Oh, I've fallen in just about every room in the house!" I can't tell you how much this will help that my dad has accepted his need for nursing home care graciously. He's already moved into his new room (we got his 65 inch TV moved in the same day) and getting adjusted.
Thanks again for praying with us,
Love in Christ, Steve (Northwood, ND) & Alberta (Chiang Mai Thailand)
PS This morning in prayer I just spontaneously asked God how he changed my dad's heart. The response I sensed was - by prayer. "Yes Lord but all the prayers of 35 years that he would have a change of heart - were they unanswered? The sense that came back to me - no, they were being incrementally answered. Faith was being built. Let us not be weary in well doing.
