Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from Northwood, ND home to a largest concentration (per capita) of 'pure' Norwegians in the USA. Ufda! (Can't believe it!) On May 30 it was 26 degrees F. 'out on the farm'. What happened to summer?
One of the highlights of this furlough was making it to one of the girls' play productions before it closed. Heather directed the Hitchcock play "Thirty Nine Steps" and Krista was her assistant director. We arrived in time for the last 2 performances. I, Steve, was jet lagging through the first show we attended, nodding off from time to time, so we went to the matinee the following day so I could see it in its entirety. It is such a joy to see your kids enjoying what they do well.
Since then, our schedule has been hectic as we have traveled through the mid-west, updating churches with our ministry this past year and connecting with our many individual partners. We joked with one of the families that frequently hosts us that the highest compliment we could pay them for their hospitality was that we knew where the silverware drawer was on the first try!
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for safe travels on the the last two weeks of our travels as we wind our way through Canada and then back to Tennessee.
2. Pray for a member care team that will be going to Nepal June 8-18 that they would be able to effectively debrief the Christian workers who have been laboring at the epicenter of the earthquake devastation since April 25. After living through 2 major earthquakes and over 200 aftershocks, fatigue and trauma are the key issues they are dealing with.
3. Pray for Steve's dad and Alberta's mom as the aging process takes its toll on their health and well being. We've had some good opportunities to serve Steve's dad and we look forward to visiting Alberta's family and friends June 10-15.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
