1983: A Good Year

The year was 1983 and I (Steve) was graduating from Bethany Global University as was Kerry Olson, (the gentleman opposite me in the photo). Kerry would end up as outreach pastor of a large church in Mexico City while I would find my way to the Philippines. Kerry has been visiting various localities in Asia, gathering information on unreached people groups that need the gospel. Bethany and several partner organizations have an aggressive goal of reaching 200 + new ethnic groups by the year 2020. It was great to host Kerry during his short stay in Thailand and catch up with each other on our journeys following the Lord.

We just want to take the opportunity to thank the organization we serve here in Asia - Team for the freedom they give us to minister across different agencies. They are an example of generosity in not only allowing us - but encouraging us - to serve other groups when we have opportunity, wherever we are in Asia. The gathering in the picture above are all Bethany folks, mostly interns that we have opportunity to interact with during their 16 month internship here. Last week we taught a couple of cultural orientation sessions for the four students that just arrived a week ago. Join us in praying for adjustment to all the changes these four will go through in the next several months. It's quite a shock to one's system!

1. Pray for our involvement and teaching in the Thailand/Myanmar     Team annual conference (Oct. 7-10). 
2. Pray for our preparation for our China trip Oct. 11-24.
3. Pray for Heather, Krista and Alberta as they begin the 
    application process to Masters programs for 2016 school year.
