Hiding in Plain Sight

Dear Family and Friends,

We are learning that listening is such an art. People are often carrying 'huge loads of cares' that are hidden to their co-workers and friends. Mike Bowden, the spiritual care facilitator for Team, taught us skills in four levels of listening. 1) listening to what a person actually says 2) listening for the meaning beneath the words 3) listening to what is going on inside me (the listener) 4) listening to what the Holy Spirit might be saying in the situation. Both the MCFs (member care facilitators) in our Chiang Mai workshop as well as the Chiana workers in south Thailand have appreciated the fellowship with one another and the opportunity to develop new active listening skills through Mike's teachings. Thank you for your prayers for our involvement in these back to back gatherings.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for Alberta as she works on her course requirements for her Ministry Care masters program. It has been tough for her to get her assignments submitted with intermittent and poor internet as we have traveled.
2. Pray for a productive trip to Myanmar to visit a team couple living north of Yangon. We desire to be an encouragement to this couple as they live far from any connection to their home culture.
3. Pray for us as we begin to prepare for our trip back to the US. We leave Feb. 25. Lots of details to pull together and important meetings before being gone for 4 months.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
