The Measure of Success

Dear Family and Friends,

Well, the measure of a successful photo is catching someone at just right moment, like Alberta trying out sushi from a conveyor belt restaurant in Taiwan! 😃

Sometimes its hard to assess our success in providing care and counsel to Christian workers in the Asia region. The last time we were visiting this country we challenged one of the workers to establish good boundaries, guarding against burnout. This year's visit brought this testimony from that same person. "Last year I almost burned out but now, when I say I'm taking a week off, I say no to requests to take on an activity or responsibility". Hmm, sounds a bit like what we shared with that individual during our last visit! It's not only a joy to see people's ministries developing, but to see their ability to care for themselves ramp up. Saying no to overwork means saying yes to rest, health, spiritual vitality and prospects for greater longevity in their ministries. Thank you for praying for our travels. We are off  to India on Sunday.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for good contact with the Christian workers at the India conference (April 3-7). They have experienced major stress in maintaining visas and finances have been difficult for some. The government recently banned cash currency in order to fight corruption.
2. Pray for our trip to the Philippines (April 10-18) that the Lord would use us as we connect with long time friends. I (Steve) will be speaking at Bethany's annual youth camp in San Jose, Mindoro.
3. Krista was encouraged from her interview with Falmouth College. Pray for her last interview with a university located in London.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
