A Ministry of Care

Alberta's vision to do a Masters crystallized in the spring of 2015 when we attended the Global Member Care Conference (GMCC) in Antalya, Turkey.  She had felt the nudge to do further studies but didn't feel led to do a counseling degree as I had done. One of the booths set up at the GMCC was from Columbia International University (CIU). CIU is one of the only universities offering a Masters in Ministry Care. Alberta was immediately drawn to this specialty, feeling that it would complement her skills as a nurse, providing emotional and spiritual  as well as physical care to people.  With several online courses and intensives behind her, Alberta is currently a full time student in the fall semester in Columbia's graduate school. Pray for her as she sets up an internship, ministering to immigrants from the Congo.

Other prayer requests:

Pray for Krista as she settles into life at the Atlanta campus of Savannah College of Art and Design. Pray for good opportunities to meet new friends and that she would quickly acclimate to studies and work in the Admissions dept.
Praise - Heather's production went well at the University of Surrey and now she is finishing a dissertation.  On Sept. 22, she will move to Glasgow to begin her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland. Pray for these processes to go smoothly.
Pray for me and Alberta as we volunteer to teach English to immigrants from Syria and Iraq. Pray we can connect well with these wonderful people and help them get acclimated to their new homeland.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
