A Multicultural Internship
As she greeted us at the door of her home, Fatima approached Alberta, gave her a hug followed by kisses to both cheeks. Then, with a kind smile she said, "you are entering an Iraqi home and we will now show you the customs and traditions of the Iraqi people". One of Alberta's courses this semester is a counseling internship. She is required to log a minimum number of hours interacting with clients. Little did she know that internship would include wonderful middle eastern meals as part of her developing relationships with the people she would minister to! Female immigrants from Eritrea, the Congo, Uganda, Iraq and Syria make up the group of clients Alberta has been meeting with. Pray for her and the ladies as they process agonizing life stories and the way forward in their new life.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for Krista in final exams for her first term at SCAD.
2. Pray for Heather as she searches for just the right play to direct for a major project in her studies in Scotland.
3. Pray for Steve attending Mental Health in Mission Conference in Angola, IN, for good contacts and networking and the ability to learn well and actively participate in the group activities
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
