A Filipina Daughter Visit

In early 1990 we started visiting the village of Gappal, Philippines where we planted a church. As we visited families with little exposure to Americans, we had a less than favorable reputation with the kids. Melonie, pictured with us above, remembers hiding behind the door when we visited her family's home. Some parents used the mystique of the American to frighten their kids into obedience, not a great start for their relationships with us! Never the less Melo soon began attending our youth meeting and received Christ as her Lord and Savior. Melo joined us last weekend for a few days off from her service with the US Navy in northern Virginia. It has been a joy to stay connected with her as she has been based in Guam, Italy and Guantanamo Bay. Through it all she has maintained a strong Christian faith. Pray with us for Melo as she aspires to become a registered nurse when she exits the Navy.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray that Alberta finishes her on campus semester well. Classes are done but some homework and tests have yet be be turned in.
2. We fly to Scotland Dec. 25th for a week of holidays with the girls. We especially ask for prayer for travels at this time of year and a fun time together with our whole family (in the same geographical place!)
3. Pray for us as we travel back to Thailand from England that we would come up to speed and re-acclimate to Asian time, climate and ministry.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
