Shaken Awake

At 1:58 AM on Jan. 15th we were awakened by the gentle swaying of our 6th floor apt. building to an earthquake centered 200 miles away in Myanmar. My (Steve) first thought was "where are we and which way should we evacuate - up or down?" Because we visit China, Taiwan, Japan, India and Nepal - all of which are earthquake prone - the fog of jet-lag briefly disoriented me as to our current geographical location! Our quaking experience was short-lived and we can confirm that we are back in Chiang Mai! Though we were thoroughly enriched by our time in Columbia, SC during Alberta's on campus studies and also our week in Scotland with Heather and Krista, it's good to be back in Thailand. We are gearing up for our first trip in two weeks to South Thailand for an annual conference of workers coming from the 'big country' north of us.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for Alberta as she adjusts to a once a week 4:30 am internship class that she does online with her cohort from the USA.
2. Pray for good contact for us with the workers from the north as we meet with them Jan. 29-Feb. 3.
3. Pray for us as we put the final touches on our Member Care Facilitator (MCF) Training we co-sponsor here in Chiang Mai held Feb. 8-12. MCFs will be coming from all over Asia to join us for this workshop on caring for Christian workers.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
