Completely Single
Greetings from Chiang Mai. Each time we have a member care facilitator (MCF) training we ask the MCFs to give us feedback on the workshop and share other themes they would like covered in future trainings. This year we tackled 3 of those requests: sexual purity, connecting well in their care of their teammates and the challenges of singles in overseas work. Our single guest speaker on the singles issue reminded us that a single is not half of a couple! Singles are complete in Christ. We were reminded that in heaven there won't be marrying and giving in marriage. Sometimes singles are inadvertently hurt by thoughtless statements. For instance: Questioner - "How many children do you have?" Single "None, actually, I'm not married." Questioner: "Oh, I'm sorry". Single "For What?" Many singles are content in their singleness.
Pray for the many single men and women serving overseas that they would experience completeness in God.
Prayer Requests:
1. As we always request on trips - pray for God appointed connections with the Christian workers. We will see many this week at the joint conference of workers from India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. We will be busy trying to connect with as many as we can.
2. Pray for Alberta as she starts another online course in March. This will run concurrently with her weekly fun 4:30 am Internship class by Skype!
3. Pray for our Filipina (spiritual) daughter Jenny whose wedding we will attend in early April. She is just a wee bit excited! We are grateful to God for bringing a godly young man named Rommel into her life.
