Waiting for God's Best
Ilokanos have a saying about the marrying age of a person. If you made it to 31, "natnag ti calendariom" - your calendar has fallen down. Translation: You'll probably never marry as you've used up the days of your calendar. Jenny's 'calendar had fallen down' yet at age 32 she married Rommel. Jenny has a long history with our family, having lived with us for the better part of 8 years. She asked me (Steve) to walk her down the aisle since her dad had passed away. What an honor that was!
The rest of the wedding is a bit of a blur with a powerful sound system, multiple picture taking sessions, great food and reconnecting with old friends. Join us in praying for this godly couple as they bring Christ into the fabric of the community where they will make their home.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for us as we recover from jet-lag in Tennessee and prepare for a fast trip through the mid-west, up into Canada and back home to Tennessee. We wish we would have time to connect with more of you. Pray for timely visits with friends and family.
2. Pray for a renter for our condo in Johnson City. With Krista away at school in Atlanta and her former roommate, Kelsey moving into a new chapter of her life, we find the condo soon to be vacant. We have a couple of prospects.
3. Pray for us and our member care team as Team re-organizes their US headquarters. Those of us stationed overseas will be taking on more of the responsibilities of debriefing currently fielded Christian workers remotely through the internet.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
