EYE KANDY

Dear Family and Friends,

As we wound our way through the central highlands of Sri Lanka  toward the city of Kandy, the wonder of God's creation was on full display. Our 20 passenger commuter bus, packed with our co-workers from India and Sri Lanka, was headed to the "Tree of Life Resort" for their annual conference. Once there,we busied ourselves with informal debriefs with these saints. We were booked every meal time on the schedule and even some of the free times. When 'governance' meetings were on the schedule for the others we headed for the pool!

One of the couples has struggled with visa issues for over a year and had just decided to transition to ministry in another country.  However, they  are continuing to process the painful grief and loss of ministry vision, long standing friendships and a deep sense of fruitfulness and satisfaction they had in their former location. It is in times like this that we feel privileged to bring perspective and encouragement to our fellow followers of Jesus. Pray for Stan and Jean (not their real names) as they let go of the former and embrace the future. We are constantly reminded by these transitions that we are pilgrims on the earth and have no 'continuing city' here.

Pray Requests:

1. Pray for the first leg of our furlough travels beginning March 14th: Chiang Mai to San Francisco, Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Los Angeles and on to Johnson City, TN. Pray for good visits with friends and family we haven't seen in years.

2. Pray with us for a young girl named Anna from chna we have become friends with. She is applying for a visa to the US to study Montessori training at Bethany Global University in Minnesota. Pray that she is granted an interview for her visa application and receives a favorable response from the US Consulate.

3. Pray for Krista moving into final exams for this term at SCAD. We all remember how we felt going into finals, right? 😶

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
